Response to Jordan

I agree that everyone has at some point in their life told at least one lie and personally I don't think that it is lying which is bad but it is the intentions behind the lie. If someone lies intentionally to hurt someone or knowing that if it was found out it would cause greater hurt than the truth then it is totally wrong. However telling little lies like 'no your bum don't look big in that' I think don't really cause any damage to anyone because lets face it if you said 'it makes no difference your bum looks big in everything'. I think that in that case to tell the truth would be mean! in some cases we tell lies or don't say anything at all to protect people. We have all heard the phrase if you haven't got anything nice to say don't say anything at all. In some ways that could be seen as deceiving someone or holding back the truth, if everyone went round saying exactly what they think it would be the truth but probably cause more harm then telling the a lie.
