Wrongly Accused and Sentenced to Death

This article contains a story of a man who was wrongly accused of rape and murder and sentenced to death. Ten years later the real rapist and murderer was caught and admitted to the murder and rape of the victim. He named the victim, identified the crime scene and took full responsibility for his actions.
 
The thing which has shocked me is that even after the discovery that the man who was wrongfully sentenced to death the police officers and authorities of Henan, China say that the case is closed and won't reconsider it. I think this is appalling as an innocent man was sentenced to death and they won't even clear his name. 
 
I think that now the real killer has been caught the police should at least consider the case and admit that the man was innocent. OK they will never bring the man back but they could bring some justice to the case, sentence the real murderer and give the families of both the victim of the rape and murder and the wrongly accused man some closure.
