Violent Video Games

Their is a significant amount of psychological research regarding violent films and video games and their effect on children. The research suggests that violet video games have a negative effect on children's behavior as the children engage in the games and are rewarded by points etc for engaging in violent acts. Past behavioral research has shown that this type of reward of children can seriously impact on their behavior.

Why is it that with negative research evident and easily accessible to the general public that children are still allowed to engage in violent games?  Video games of a violent nature are a common theme in modern society regardless of their impact.

The impact of such films and video games should be emphasized to wider society to ensure parents are not ignorant to their effect. Perhaps if parents knew the behavioral consequences of such games it would not be as socially acceptable for children to be exposed to them.
